Joseph John Gomez (born August 18) better known by his stage name Pollux Terminus is an American producer. Hailing from San Francisco, CA now in Houston, TX, he is an independent artist.
Started making music in 2016, and delivered his first Single on August 18, 2020, Pollux has been continually putting out tracks from that point onward. His main genres of music are Electronic and Hip-Hop/Lo-Fi.
He found his name on behindthename.com. He searched up Greek/Roman-mythological names and stumbled on ‘Pollux’ meaning ‘very sweet’ and ‘Terminus’ meaning ‘end’. Combined the two for a unique name and meaning. Ever since then all his tracks are released under his Stage name.
Pollux describes his music as unique and should remind people of movie and video game soundtracks. He wants to make something that everyone can just click and resonate with. And this last album should allow for seemly flow whether you have it on shuffle or play it straight through.
His creative process involves him starting with an idea and a theme he chose. In this last album, he wanted hip-hop with lo-fi vibes. Once he settled on an idea and theme, he had to plan each track. Pollux would create a melody first and create a tone/feel and build on that melody. From there, he’d ironed out and finalized the track. He knows he made it sound easy, but there was a lot of time spent on each step.
Music was always in him. Pollux went to school, got the degree, and in the field, he studied for. But in the back of his mind, music was always there. Any free time he had was spent creating, which eventually led to the release of two albums. He still works a normal job but makes time for his music when he can.
His inspiration to make music comes mainly from the video game music he grew up with. Video game series such as Soul Edge/Soul Calibur, Tekken, Gran Turismo, and Halo. You can tell his music is heavily inspired by that, where he tries to evoke emotions through the music alone rather than lyrics.
People can expect a bunch of new music, content, and videos. Pollux is currently working on another lo-fi album. The third project has been on hiatus due to work and just uncertainty and lack of focus. But he’s settled on wanting to make a new lo-fi album! And he will keep working hard to reach the stage that few do.
