Caleb Madden (born June 2, 1999) better known by his stage name Cmadd is an American Artist/Producer with Dirtsquad Music. Hailing from Egg Harbor City, New Jersey but lives in Eugene, Oregon, he is the Co-owner of the music production and entertainment company, ‘Dirtsquad Productions LLC’.
Started writing music at 13 years old, Delivering his first song on SoundCloud at 13. He had no concept of sound quality or recording ethics and he just recorded on a USB microphone in audacity with a YouTube beat he didn’t own. But it felt good to put pen to pad and see how many people listened and hear people tell me they liked it. Caleb never looked back once he got the first few songs out and felt how good it was to create something and get good feedback. With his main genre of music being Hip-hop.
Caleb was smoking weed for one of the first times ever, he thought about what my name would be if he really got serious with music. His first initial is C and his last name is madden. He took the first initial and the beginning of his last name and that was that. He has thought about changing his name but anyone who knows him knows Caleb by that artist name, ‘Cmadd’, and even people who don’t listen to his music know him as that alias so he can’t just change it.
Caleb describes his music as unique. He never wanted to be anyone else and never wanted to make music for a specific demographic or genre. He wants to make the type of music that he’s proud of and he knows he can help people in one way or another. Do you want to turn up? Here’s some banging turn-up music. You and your girl broke up? Here’s some heartbreak music. You’re depressed or suicidal? Here’s some music to help you understand that other people out there know what you’re going through and care. Caleb wants to be himself and help the world be a better place one person at a time.
His creative process is random. If he’s writing a song and it takes more than 10-15 minutes to write, it’s usually not his best work. And strangely enough, sometimes his freestyles come out better than his written music. The process of getting inspiration is never the same. Sometimes he hears a beat that his business partner is cooking up and his ears perk up like a hungry dog hearing the word “food”. Sometimes Caleb makes a beat and doesn’t even feel anything but comes back to the studio the next day and writes some of his best music. He just doesn’t like to force anything and let it come organically.
Caleb’s come-up story is a trip. Before he was anywhere near this point in his career, he used to freestyle in the hallways between classes in high school. His buddy could beatbox and he would rap. It was like PB and J. I never knew he would get this far and even when he met his manager and fellow Dirtsquad artist RooX, he was ambitious and believed in himself but never could’ve imagined getting to this point. Caleb met RooX in college in a music production class after freestyling to our professor’s guitar riffs. RooX had already been doing huge shows opening for artists like Lil Wayne, Joyner Lucas, and Futuristic. He was just some kid with a dream. Fast forward 4 years and they’ve done more sold-out shows than he can count on both hands and both feet, Caleb released 4 albums already. They’ve even sold out his own show! Like life is crazy. He feels so blessed to have been given the opportunity to do what he has done. And Caleb’s not even close to done. Barely even scratching the surface of his potential and his team’s potential.

His inspiration to make music is simple. He loves it. Caleb has always been an avid fan of all music, especially hip-hop culture. He grew up listening to Nas, Kanye, The Roots, Wu-Tang Clan, Lil Wayne, Eminem, etc. the list goes on and on. And as soon as he felt like he might have even a sliver of whatever genes or soul-driven passion it takes to do what they do, he ran with it. He does this for himself, everyone who ever believed in him, and everyone who ever had a dream and didn’t chase it and now lives in a world of regret.
People can expect a bunch of new music, content, and videos. Caleb is planning on nonstop effort, blood, sweat, and tears for this shit. He’s come so far and lost so much for this game there’s no way he could turn his back on it. He’s doing this for real and he’s going to get it no matter what. Nothing is gonna get in his way and nothing’s gonna change his mind. It’s cmadd 4L and a huge shout out to his team and everyone who’s helped him get this far. And he will keep working hard to reach the stage that few do.
