Mario (born April 3, 2002) better known by his stage name MAR is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Hailing from Harlingen, TX, is an independent artist.
He started making music early this year (2022) and delivered his first Single in April, MAR plans to continuously put out tracks from that point onward. With his main genre of music is alternative rap.
Growing up his close friends would call him ‘Mar’ since it’s short for his whole name and it just kind of stuck on after that. All his tracks will be released under his Stage name.
MAR describes his music as melodic and upbeat, having a pleasant and cheerful vibe to it.
His creative process involves him always constantly listening to his saved music and he often puts on new songs to keep his ideas flowing during the day. MAR tends to listen to artists that he can compare to, so he can find ways to integrate all that into a unique but familiar style.
Life isn’t always as it seems, and MAR had its fair share of struggles whether financial or personal. His mother raised him for more than half his life before his dad left and that set them up in a very tough spot to figure out things on their own. But through the tough times, he always had music and his instruments to help the time pass and make him feel whole, even if it was momentarily.
He’d always been musically inclined his whole life, he was in orchestra and learned piano on his own, but who really set MAR off to start publishing his own music was ‘The Kid LAROI’. He proved to me that a unique and young sound can and will make it out, it’s just a matter of trusting your work and the process and having faith within.
People can expect music on top of music on top of music, he has so many ideas and this passion within to keep going. MAR has been told that his music is relatable and that they feel the words, so he has the mentality of wanting to be able to be someone’s light from afar or someone’s vibe in the car!! And he will keep working hard to reach the stage that few do.
