Matthew Robert Carvajal (born December 24th, 1996) better known by his stage name Maroca Liso, is an American Producer, Singer, and Songwriter. Hailing from the Bronx, New York, He is an independent artist.
Started making music in early 2019, delivering his first Single on July 8th, 2022, named ‘The One’ but he re-released it within his 8-track project called, “Liso Wit It” on August 26th, 2022. Maroca has been continually putting out tracks from that point onward. His main genre of music is Hip-Hop, R&B, and Pop music.
One of his associates who’s also a great friend of Maroca who’s from Romania helped him come up with his stage name, something that simple and catchy. Ever since then, all his tracks have been released under his Stage name.
Maroca describes his music as something with a smoothed touch to it. The music that he creates whether it’s the production side, singing, or song writing it’s all very smooth. No matter what emotion he’s giving off; whether he feels happy, sad, angry, loved, etc. it has a smooth flow to it. He really enjoys making something very catchy that’s inescapable and above all that has meaning and value behind it.

His creative process involves him coming up with his own flow of things when certain harmonies come across his mind when Maroca is mostly alone or when he’s surrounded himself by other people. He really enjoys taking notes about things that he has gone through or what other people have gone through and creating parables, like storytelling.
Maroca Liso was born in the Bronx, NY, where he was introduced to music by a few of his family members. During his teenage years around 2012, he got his start in music singing on the worship team at his old local church located in Newburgh, NY. A couple of years later, he went on to become one of the featured performers singing in the choir at a private bible college in Haverhill, MA. Gospel/Soul music will forever be held dearly within Maroca’s heart, but his true passion was always contemporary music. With some focus and determination, he then took music seriously by not only rehearsing his voice but testing the waters by producing music as a young adult in early 2019. As a result of spending countless hours experimenting with sound and rhythm, he developed an irresistible rhythmic style that he wants to express throughout the world.
Maroca continues to grow as an artist by creating concepts and developing words and melodies to match his production skills. This can definitely open up countless doors for him, eventually leading him to consider music as a career. Since the moment he made up his mind about striving for greatness in the music realm, he hasn’t looked back. While organizing his craft more and more, he’s been building up a series of songs that are sometimes bouncy, epic, energetic, etc. Most importantly, for any kind of project he plans on releasing down the line, he is always storing up many sounds filled with different, thrilling vibes with top-notch production that’s one of a kind.
Currently based in New Windsor, NY, Maroca is surrounding himself with like-minded artists and getting ready to make his mark on the music scene, both locally and nationally. In his creative process, he just does what the music tells him to do by observing and reflecting on everything he surrounds himself with. He simply puts together whatever he feels at any given moment into the production side first, then does the same thing with singing as he goes. When certain harmonies or events come across his mind whether he’s alone or not, he takes notes about things that either he or what others have gone through. He is passionately committed to using his talent as a force for good and letting his music make a huge shift in the world we live in today.
A producer with a distinctly smooth sound, Maroca Liso is emerging as an artist day by day and isn’t to be ignored or taken lightly. Blending elements of Pop, and classic Hip-Hop with modern Trap beats, and R&B styles, he creates tracks that’ll move the body and touch the soul. The music that’s being created whether it’s the production side or singing, it’s all very smooth, high-quality, and genuine. No matter what emotion he’s going off on, it has a certain unique flow to it. He really enjoys making something that’s very catchy, inescapable, and above all, that has meaning and value behind it. At this time of his career, he’s focused on putting out his debut recordings. When they drop, there’s no telling how far this ambitious young talent could go.
The people that inspired Maroca to make music are Drake, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Travis Scott, Bryson Tiller, The Weeknd, etc. He loves the music they make because not only is it smooth which captivates him, but the messages that they deliver to their audience are very impactful and very powerful. For example, when Drake’s music video, “God’s Plan” was released to the public, he gave away almost a million dollars to the people who really need it the most. Not only did the song have very good high quality, but the fact that he put the betterment of other people first whether it’s blood-related or not before himself speaks high volumes about what kind of person he is! He humbled himself in his own way to put people first and didn’t ask for anything in return out of love, and that’s what made an impact in Maroca’s life to do likewise when he make and release music more in his music career.
People can expect a bunch of new music, content, and videos. Maroca wants to influence and teach upcoming artists and artists who have been doing music for a minute to play the long game by not just making money off the music that they create but having ownership of it. He believes that any music creator should have more leverage in their own career and not give up any of their masters, publishings, and royalties for a bag full of money that is right in front of them. Because when they do that, they’re setting themselves up for failure when they sign very bad deals with any major or minor record labels. People who work at record labels that are in a higher power shouldn’t be taking advantage of artists or producers that have wonderful gifts they’ve obtained over the course of their lives. If anything, people at record labels should equip artists and producers by telling them to save the money that they worked so hard to get and invest in themselves (their music, brand, merchandise, etc.) the right way instead of the wrong way.
The next step for Maroca is to keep on investing in myself, his brand, and the people that are very trustworthy to work with and understand how to be a successful entrepreneur. He definitely sees himself creating and opening up other businesses so that his family, and friends, and helping out people who need it the most to have a blessed life.
